I know, the title of this blog post is completely odd right? Never focus on your competition. But, it is true.
Focusing on your competition is just wrong and counterproductive. Why? Because it takes the focus off of your own business. And you stand a chance of becoming obsessed with your competitors which means your own business falls by the wayside.
Successful people keep tabs on their main competitors however they do not focus on them. They focus on making their own businesses stronger, they focus on the direction they want their business to go in. Keeping tabs on the competition makes sense.
Focusing on them does not. Why would you make decisions for your business based upon another entity, who if they had half a chance would steamroll you in a heartbeat?
Keep the focus of your business on your business. It’s the only way you will make your business success sustainable.
